Alexa's & Sage's 4t Grade Pioneer Program

Sage and Alexa were in the 4th grade pioneer program at the school. They dressed up like pioneers and sang some cute songs. My favorite part though was watching the kids square dance. It was really fun!!

Halloween Costumes

Isabelle as Princess 'Belle'

Alexa as a 'Flapper'

Sage as a 'Vampire'

Noah as 'Bumble Bee'
I really slacked on getting pictures on Halloween but these are from the parade at school. The week before Halloween Alex was out of town and he was supposed to fly in at 4pm and get home just in time for trick-or-treating but he missed his flight and didn't get home until close to 10pm. So I ended up turning out all the lights and taking my kids out, they still had a blast of course and that is all that matters. Luckily I took a picture of each of them at the Halloween parade at school.

Screaming Halloween Party

The weekend before Halloween we had a fun party for Sage and Alexa and 11 of their friends. The reason it was "screaming" is because that is just what 9 year old girls do when they are together and having fun. They run around and scream. It was really fun. I've decided that kid parties are my favorite because kids are so easy to entertain and they don't notice when things are not perfect. They just have fun.

Isabelle's first ride (on two wheels)

Isabelle was fully confident that she was going to just go out and ride her bike without the training wheels. Her parents kept telling her she would need help at first. She was more right than us because it only took two tries and she was doing just what she had set out to do. We couldn't believe it. I was even worried about the bare feet but she never even fell.

Isabelle's First Day at Pre-school (2nd year)

I took these pictures of her in front of Miss Jodi's house and started posing all on her own. We love you Isa!

Noah's First Day of Kindergarten

Noah's first day of Kindergarten, I can't believe how quickly it came up on me. He had a really good day and was totally ready for it. I love Kindergarten because it is so much fun. His teacher is Miss Gurney and he loves her.

First Day of 4th Grade

August 20 was Alexa's and Sage's first day of 4th grade. This is their third year in the Spanish Immersion program. This was also the first year that they went school shopping with me and they definitely had their own opinions about what they were going to be wearing to school. It was lots of fun for us.

Lake Powell

These are some pics from our fabulous vacation at Lake Powell in July. They are less than two months old and that is real progress for me. We went with Grandpa James and Chrissy and her four youngest boys. It was totally enjoyable for me especially since my children are getting "older" and more self sufficient. Sage got up on skis for the first time and poor Alexa couldn't even try because of her broken arm. Thank goodness for the waterproof cast. We spent one entire day going up to rainbow bridge where we took the family picture. I haven't been there in about ten years and Chrissy and I decided once a decade is about right for making the trip. Thanks Grandpa for the best week of our summer. We love you!

Harvest

These pictures are summer but we had so much fun harvesting our garden this year. This was the first year we did corn and Alex now says it is his favorite thing to grow. We had so many beets that we had to was them off in a wading pool and that was only a fraction of them we did that day.

Hummingbird Nest and Broken Arm

Some people from Alex's work had a little get together down in Sanpete County. The highlights from this outing were the hummingbird nest we found which is pretty remarkable. Alex first spotted the tiny nest with tiny little eggs in it about the size of jelly belly's. The nest itself was not more than two inches wide total. When we went back to get a picture of it the mother hummingbird was just sitting in it as still as could be. Sage snapped this picture of it and I must say she did get an excellent shot of it. She is quite the little wildlife photographer.

While we were there Alexa had a slip and fall on the slippery rocks in the river and broke her arm. While not the first broken bone of the summer (Noah broke his toe on 6/22) it is the first cast in our family. These pictures were taken about 3 days later. That is our good friend Ana wrapping the cast, she is a PA at our Pediatrician's office.

Thanks Ana!!!

Family Pics

Ok, let's not mention that I haven't posted in like 7 months. We recently had our family pictures taken and I am really excited to post them Here is my favorite of all of us.

It is such a relief for me to finally do this. We have never had any professional pics taken of our whole family. And the photographer was so great to work with. He just worked around the kids and instead of having to order prints through him he just gave me a disc with all the pictures on it and in several different finishes. Here is his website if anyone is interested, pextonphotography.com

This week I am going to Youth Conference, it has been a little bit on the stressful side to plan and get ready. Even though Alex is going to be home with the kids while I am gone I still feel like there is so much to get ready for them before I leave. You know, like laundry and planned meals. And that is on top of everything for Youth Conference itself. I am planning to decorate my blog with more of the pics we got so stay tuned, but don't hold your breath I havn't been that consistent with keeping up this page.
Anyway I am going
